Symbolism

The lotus flower suggests purity and reflects outer strength like that of tooth enamel. The symbols on the flower petals are from the South Korean flag and represent as follows clockwise from the top: balance, earth, moon, sun, and heaven. The sun rising from a Korean landscape represents fertile lands and the activation of the US Army Dental Activity, Korea. The snake and staff of Asclepius are traditional symbols and maroon is the traditional color of the Dental Corps.
